The DVD "Gaspé
of Yesteryear"
is a great collection of memories in pictures (over 4 500). Photos include many scenes
and events from the past, some citizens and former
citizens of the Gaspé area, and more.
There are many pictures
of Gaspé as it was at different periods during the
last 100 years.
Please note: All the photos were
loaned to me for use in my album by local Gaspesioans or former Gaspesians. A
significant
number of the people in the album will be from these families, their
relatives, as well as friends and neighbours. A list of the files on the album can be found here. In
this list you can see the different families that are included.
These
family names reflect those of the early settlers in the area.
I
am continually searching for photos from other families in the Gaspe
area. Can you help?
The CD "Gaspé - Scenes of the Past" contains a collection of over 1 000 digital pictures of yesteryear in Gaspé. The photos are scenes, places and events taken years ago in and around the town of Gaspé. A large portion of the pictures were originals from collections of local citizens. The collection, created on a CD, can be viewed on any modern computer or on your television using your computer or DVD player. *** An excellent pictorial history of the area! *** The DVD "Cemeteries of the Gaspe Area" is a large collection of photos of headstones and grave markers (over 12 000) from local cemeteries. Included are all of the cemeteries from Fox River (Rivière-au-Renard) to Cap d'Espoir plus Murdochville. Also included are all of the non catholic cemeteries as far west as Escuminac on the south shore of the Gaspé peninsula. A list indicates the many cemeteries which are included. Another link shows a list of the names found on the headstones. Thanks to extra space on a DVD, this version of "Gaspé of Yesteryear" includes additional present day photos of Gaspé scenery.
Both CD and DVD albums are designed to work well on a PC computer and
the newer Macintosh computers. However, before placing an order, please
take note of the following points: You can connect your laptop/PC directly to a TV . This will allow you to see all of the CD and DVD disks on your television just as you would on your computer.
