Bonjour! I am seeking information ot possible connections to mu great-great grandmother and grandfather, Ineze (Naize) Duchine/Duchaine and Moses Currier. Ineze was born around 1852, Moses around 1845, they married in Quebec, only her father is listed on her death certificate in VT. Family lore says she was Canadian Indigenous/First Peoples, married outside tribe and move to Vermont where she americanized her name and was extremely cautious about sharing her background. (There were some horrible things happening here at the time). She was naturalized American citizen by proxy under her husband, Moses Currier. Her death certificate only lists her father Dumas Duchine (we think maybe a spelli g wrror on last name.) We are trying to find the town/area where she and Moses were most likely born so that we can attempt to locate birth information. Please let me know if these names strike a bell. Moses' parentage was listed and we believe largely French but Ineze is mysterious and we habe decades of family stories that suggest she may habe Belo ged to one of Quebec's 11 tribes prior to marriage. Thank you, Hillary Plate
