Gaspe Golf Tournament
2003/06/06
by Ruth Armstrong

The Annual Gaspe Golf Tournament was a success as usual. 199 people were in attendance, many just to see other Gaspesians and catch up on the news. They came from as far away as B.C. I believe the Millers topped the list this year, with Pattersons and Boyles a close second.15 first cousins (of the Miller clan) were present and had their pictures taken for posterity. Dennis and Marg Palmer passed around a photo album they had made up of previous tournaments, it was enjoyed by all. Door prizes were given out and thanks to the generosity of many, the majority of people received one. Shirley Boyle was the winner of a lovely garden seat, made and donated by Wendall Miller of North Bay. It is a great pleasure to attend the gathering of people from the Gaspe and enjoy a few hours of catching up. Lots of "remember when's", stories and jokes--I missed the music this time, hopefully next year it will be back. The rain held off fairly will until most were off the course and under shelter. Several were booked into a local motel so the party did not stop at the Golf course.
