Concentration and careful attention to detail are indispensible qualities when constructing a kayak. Visitors to the workshop were often impressed by the total absorption of the builders in their work.

Anook (Amelie's dog) was the workshop mascot and kept an active eye on all doors, sniffing all newcomers.
